Welcome to YES Prep Southwest Oaks Elementary School—a place where learning knows no limits! 

As the proud Principal of our brand new school, I am thrilled to serve the diverse needs of our community and provide the educational experiences our students deserve.  

Just as the roots of an oak tree run deep, my commitment to YES Prep Southwest Oaks Elementary runs deeply rooted in the belief that EVERY SPARK, regardless of their ability, race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, deserves access to opportunities. 

At YES Prep Southwest Oaks Elementary, we are dedicated to nurturing a culture of physical and emotional safety, academic excellence, joyful learning, and embracing boundless possibilities!

We are committed to a high-quality learning experience tailored to the individual needs of each student. Ibia Faucher

Founding Principal

About Ms. Faucher 

Growing up on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Ms. Faucher’s journey toward her lifelong dream of becoming a principal and establishing her own school began at the age of 5 when she had a mock classroom set up at home.   

While her journey initially led her to a successful career as an accountant after earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting in 2011, Ms. Faucher’s drive and passion for providing equitable access to learners remained steadfast. In 2016, she transitioned into education, starting her career with Dekalb County Public Schools in Georgia where she dedicated three years to nurturing and educating a diverse population of 1st graders.  

Upon relocating to Texas, in 2019, Ms. Faucher was a Founder at KIPP Journey Primary. Over her four years at KIPP Journey Primary, Ms. Faucher served as a Teacher, Dean of Instruction, and Principal-in-Residence. During her tenure, Ms. Faucher fostered a culture of social and academic excellence, resulting in leading the school to a “B” TEA rating based on student achievement.  As a lifelong learner with a deep commitment to education, in 2022, Ms. Faucher earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. 

Ms. Faucher’s hope is that her journey exemplifies the transformative power of following one’s passion.  

When she is not serving as a champion for learners, Ms. Faucher enjoys spending quality time with her family, traveling, and crafting.
